Peter Tsukahira
Israeli pastor, author and Bible teacher
Peter Tsukahira, Co-Founder of Kehilat HaCarmel and its related ministries, made aliyah with his family to Israel in 1987. As an Israeli pastor, author and internationally recognised Bible teacher, Tsukahira has spent more than three decades helping Christians understand the biblical significance of Israel, the Kingdom of God and the calling to discipleship.
Born in the United States and raised in Japan, Peter came to faith in Jesus in 1973. He studied at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Tufts University and later completed a Master of Divinity degree. In 1982, Peter and his wife, Rita, moved to Tokyo, where he helped lead a growing international Christian fellowship while also working in the Japanese computer industry.
His ministry has impacted the church with an understanding of God’s heart for Israel, God’s kingdom and making disciples.
As an author and teacher, Peter is particularly known for connecting biblical teaching about Israel with the wider themes of the Kingdom of God, discipleship and the believer’s calling in society. His books have been translated into numerous languages and include God’s Tsunami – Understanding Israel and End-time Prophecy, My Father’s Business – Guidelines for Ministry in the Marketplace, Culture of the Kingdom, EQUIP – Your Personal Journey to the Kingdom and his newest book, IRREPLACEABLE – Refuting Replacement Theology Today.
