Michael Miller is the Founder and Senior Pastor of UPPERROOM. In April 2010, Michael and his wife, Lorisa, started a small prayer meeting in an office space overlooking downtown Dallas. From that initial prayer meeting, God birthed a movement of prayer and worship that continues to grow globally. Many lives have been impacted by UPPERROOM’s house of prayer, as people online and from all over the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex come together to pray and worship every morning, noon and night.
In addition to their work in Dallas, Michael and Lorisa travel internationally to support other UPPERROOM communities and houses of prayer in the U.S. and abroad.
At the heart of the prayer ministry is an emphasis on ‘ministering to the Lord’, the theological conviction around which UPPERROOM has developed. Its purpose is to minister to the Lord through thanksgiving, worship and intercession, and Miller describes this conviction as something that fundamentally changed his understanding of ministry.
He is also the author of “His House, His Presence”, which tells the story of UPPERROOM and develops his conviction that ministry to the Lord is the believer’s first and primary calling.
Michael has been in full-time ministry since 2001 and lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife, Lorisa and their four beautiful children.
