The Honorable Viliame Gavoka currently serves as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Fiji, and was very instrumental in Fiji becoming the seventh nation to open its Embassy to Israel in the capital city of Jerusalem. He was first elected to parliament in 2014 as a member of the SODELPA party, which he now heads.

DPM Gavoka also currently serves as the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation.

Prior to entering public service, he held senior leadership positions with the Fiji Visitors Bureau, the Fiji Rugby Union, and Fiji Holding Limited.
