Yosef Shlomo (Yossi) Dagan is an Israeli politician who has served as Head of the Shomron Regional Council since August 2015. His political career was shaped by Israel’s 2005 unilateral disengagement, during which his home community of Sa-Nur was evacuated and demolished. He subsequently became a prominent opponent of further evacuations and co-founded the Homesh First organisation.

After serving as deputy and acting head of the council, Dagan won a special election in August 2015. He oversees municipal services, security and infrastructure for dozens of Jewish communities across northern Samaria. He is also active in national politics, particularly within Likud and engages with policymakers in Europe and the United States to advocate for the region.

Dagan holds an LL.B. from Ono Academic College and an LL.M. from Bar-Ilan University and is a certified mediator. He also serves as a Captain in the IDF reserves. Dagan is married to Oriya, has four children.
